Micro auto gasification system – waste to energy

Managing waste streams may raise difficulties and have considerable environmental impact. Many conventional methods such as: landfilling and incineration are well known for these effects. The picture is worse if we also take into account the means of disposal and transport, as we tend to accumulate and re-direct our waste to third parties. This is especially valid if you are quite a distance removed from any available infrastructure and or you have a stream of toxic/hazardous waste to handle.

A viable technology, which provides a solution, is micro auto gasification. The technology presents itself as safe, clean and environmental friendly. It has the potential to enable a zero-waste habitat. Micro auto gasification is a thermal treatment method that decomposes, or fractures all organic based waste into:

• A carbon component
• A volatile gaseous fraction
Auto-gasification means the volatile gaseous fraction is used by the device to further gasify the waste. Creating an ideal waste to energy device using waste as fuel. A basic overview of the process is shown in the adjacent figure.
Auto-gasification technology differs from incineration because it is an:
• Indirect, heat transferring, low oxygen process that
fractures all organic waste
• It decomposes waste a into a carbon- and gaseous
component called “synthesis-gas”
• The synthesis gas is used as fuel for the
continuation of the process (auto-gasification)
• The gasification process is ideal for thermal recovery
and is a waste to energy device.

MAGS is a disruptive technology, as it changes the way we look at waste management. In fact waste management becomes an important resource instead of a costly nuisance…
